Adelaide

I finally arrived at Adelaide. After spending 2 nights on the Indian-Pacific train, after cruising on 2666km of railway tracks at the speed of an escargot de Bourgogne, after experiencing the world's longest stretch of straight railway, i.e. about 475km without a single curve, our beautiful train made into the capital of South Australia. On our way, we discovered Cook, a ghost town in the middle of nowhere.

So now, Adelaide. First impressions: beautiful city, reminds me of London, nice parks, lots of black swans, elegant buildings, busy people and tramways a la Berlin, i.e. in the middle of avenues.

It's very sunny here. Not as hot as Perth, greener and I don't have that weird sensation of being far from the rest of humanity.

Tomorrow we're leaving on our road trip. It will take us to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. More info soon!
