Welcome to Melbourne

Not a lot of pictures of Melbourne unfortunately. We didn't spend a lot of time there (ok, we did, but were very lazy). But it's a great place. Like any traveller, I will compare it to Sydney. There's more to do in Melbourne, from a cultural point of view. And the architecture is much more impressive. Sydney has the good beaches and the magnificent harbour. I just don't know which one to choose...

There are lots of tramways in Melbourne. Old ones, middle-aged ones and new ones...

Flinders Street station. Very beautiful indeed.

St Paul's Cathedral. Not as impressive as the real one but still...

Federation Square, also called Fed Square. Melbourne's meeting place, a bit like Place du Commerce in Nantes or Piccadilly Circus in London. You know, it's the kind of place that's as useful as it is useless. You tell your friends "let's meet at 8pm near the fountain at Piccadilly Circus/ in front the Gaumont at Place du Commerce/ near the tourist office on Federation Square" and when you get there, you realise that the whole town had the same idea as you and you spend 15 minutes wandering around like a lost sheep, looking for your mates.

Melbourne by night.

The next day, still in Melbourne.

Impressions of our feet.

Cricket game on the giant screen in Fed Square.

Queen Victoria markets.

Melbourne's war memorial, the Shrine of Remembrance.

People-watching people.

Inside St Paul's.

Shopping mall and tramway.
