Oamaru

After Moeraki, Squeaky took us to Oamaru. Same story: an unexpected stop in a unexpectedly fascinating place. This time, no boulders, but a town that seems to have stopped evolving after the beginning of the 20th century. Old buildings, old cars, old people, old bikes and old shops. Paradise for my little camera.

This is the best road sign IN THE WORLD.

The famous shags.

Oamaru is famous for its buildings made out of a special kind of stone.

Even the bikes are old.

Art Deco, again and again.

Sheep skin warehouse.

Then we went to taste some whisky and port. Just a sip of course, I was driving.

Then my camera caught an intriguing sight that looked like it came straight out of a 1970's gangster film.

Da gangsta's are in town!
